Our Direction
Our Mission
The role of the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Warsaw Institute of Technology, as an interdisciplinary research unit, is to develop competencies in providing entrepreneurs with innovative technologies that strengthen their competitive market position by building strong connections with the scientific and business world domestically and abroad.
The strategic goal of Łukasiewicz – WIT is to increase the Institute’s share in the R&D market and commercialization.
The adopted strategy aligns with the mission of the Łukasiewicz Research Network: “Creative people who passionately create innovative solutions for the development of Polish entrepreneurs and the Polish economy”.
The values appreciated and unifying the employees of the Institute are: passion, creativity, courage, reliability, and solidarity.
The Future Begins Today
We know that the future begins today, not tomorrow, so to counteract the effects of climate change and the fight for a “better tomorrow,” we are working to make a difference! We are confident that our technologies and solutions will transform the industry so that future generations can live in a better world.
Our Mission
Creative people who passionately create innovative solutions for the development of the Polish economy

Eco-Friendly Solutions
At Łukasiewicz – WIT, a method for producing lightweight artificial aggregate from sewage sludge was developed. This aggregate is obtained through low-temperature synthesis of sewage sludge with mineral municipal and mining waste. The compounds of heavy metals contained in the sewage sludge are incorporated into the crystalline structure of the silicate sinter, making them non-leachable and safe for the environment.
Within the Łukasiewicz Research Network, as part of one of the Research Groups: Sustainable Economy and Energy, the “Technologies in Modular Construction” Research Program was launched. As part of the adopted program, we carry out R&D projects in the field of construction materials (including automation and robotics), processing and recycling, energy efficiency, and “smart building.” Modular construction today becomes both a response and a bridge towards Construction 4.0, as it makes sense for factory building production.
Our technology addresses the problem of joint overgrowth in surfaces made of slabs or paving elements, which is cumbersome for users and not effectively resolved by applying protectants to the exterior surface of the joints. This solution effectively prevents biological overgrowth of joints in outdoor surfaces even with the lowest mass concentrations of hydrophobic agent, nano-zinc, and nano-copper, especially when an aggregate impregnant is applied before the joint-filling phase for slab or paving stone surfaces. An additional advantage of the developed technology is effectively preventing biological overgrowth throughout the entire volume of the joint, not just in the top external layer of the jointing material.

Enterprise Europe Network
The Enterprise Europe Network is the world’s largest business support network and platform for promoting and searching for technologies, products, or services in Europe and beyond. The network was created in response to the needs of the small and medium enterprises sector, but large companies, research centers, and universities can also benefit from its support. An essential aspect of EEN’s activity is the vast potential for establishing direct contacts with Network centers worldwide and the high standard of services provided to clients, regardless of the region they operate in.
Main Goals of the Enterprise Europe Network:
- Strengthening the competitiveness of enterprises
- Promotion and technology transfer
- Innovation development
- Support in enterprise internationalization
Currently, the EEN network comprises over 600 centers from European Union countries and third countries such as China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam, affiliated with various business support organizations like chambers of commerce, regional development agencies, entrepreneurship support centers, universities, and research institutes like ours. Enterprise Europe Network centers are linked by vast databases that enable knowledge sharing, business partner acquisition, and technology transfer across all countries affiliated with the network. Funding for network centers’ activities comes from EU funds and national budgets. Participation in the network is a free, often effective advertisement and an opportunity to access services and events, which are usually paid.
