New electroless NiB/B and Ni-B/MoS2 composite coatings
with improved mechanical properties
New composite coatings Ni-B/B i Ni-B/MoS2
with improved mechanical properties produced by chemical reduction
Acronym: GalvaNiB
Objective: The project concerns the preparation and testing of the properties of composite coatings deposited chemically with a Ni-B matrix and B or MoS2 particles. The subject falls within the global trend of searching for materials that have high utility requirements, such as high hardness, corrosion resistance and resistance to wear due to friction.
The implementation of the project will allow for the development of new, unique materials and will expand the state of knowledge in the field of composite coatings. In addition, the work will concern the adaptation of the process of manufacturing Ni-B/B and Ni-B/MoS2 composite coatings to a larger scale on a pilot galvanic line, which will allow for the future use of these solutions in industrial conditions. Thanks to their properties, the coatings can be used in the aviation, automotive and electronics industries.
