The main idea of the project is to protect historic buildings and cultural heritage by ensuring their ability to adapt to environmental, economic and social challenges and changes. Adapted and rebuilt historic buildings must offer similar capabilities to new buildings, e.g. provide comfort and health of users while being affordable and accessible, and integrate IoT systems, helping to achieve EU and global decarbonization goals.

The project will create complementary technological solutions in the area of energy management systems, BIM solutions and digital twins of buildings, as well as innovative materials and techniques for thermal modernization of historic buildings. The proposed solutions will be installed and tested in conditions close to real ones in 5 test locations.

Łukasiewicz–WIT will scale and verify the proposed thermal modernization materials and techniques to TRL 5, and will also coordinate work related to the installation of the prototype in test locations.
