New Technologies Research and Development Department
The Department of Research and Development of New Technologies continues and expands the current research areas of the Łukasiewicz – WIT Corrosion and Protective Coatings Center.
Our Team consists of experts who have a passion for research and curiosity about the world, as well as in-depth knowledge and professional experience that allow us to provide innovative and effective solutions in the field of materials engineering.
Scope of Activities
We carry out scientific, research and development and technological work and prepare expert opinions in the field of:
- Atmospheric corrosion, including corrosion monitoring across Poland,
- Chemical and electrochemical surface treatment, with a special focus on light metal alloys, composites, and other metallic materials,
- tests of the properties of protective and functional coatings produced using most coating technologies in order to determine their resistance to various environmental conditions, as well as chemical, physical and physicomechanical factors,
- Surface engineering (new materials for thermal spraying, functional coatings for products manufactured in additive technologies, technologies with reduced consumption of critical raw materials, energy, and water).
New Technologies Research and Development Department
What we offer
- development of innovative solutions: the research work we carry out leads to the development of innovative technologies in the broadly understood materials engineering, which can be used in various fields of industry;
- selection of coating systems and conversion technologies: we optimize the selection of anti-corrosion coating depending on the location and operating conditions, ensuring effective protection of materials;
- interpretation of physicochemical processes: we carry out a comprehensive analysis of the processes of creating conversion coatings on the surfaces of various metals and alloys, ensuring optimal protection of materials in a given environment;
- corrosion resistance assessment: we use advanced electrochemical methods to assess corrosion resistance and detect changes in the degradation of materials and coatings
- expert support: we have an experienced team of experts ready to provide support and develop expertise in the area of surface protection and corrosion technologies,
- access to advanced research infrastructure: we are part of an Institute with extensive research infrastructure, which allows us to be an active participant in national and international research and development projects.
